OLAPLEX is built around a patented active ingredient — bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate — that physically rebuilds the broken disulfide bonds inside the hair shaft. The No.3 Hair Perfector is the iconic at-home weekly treatment. Apply to damp hair (after shampooing or as a pre-shampoo treatment) — generous amounts work into hair from roots to ends. Leave on for a minimum of 10 minutes — for severely damaged hair, leave on for several hours or even overnight under a shower cap. Rinse thoroughly, then shampoo with OLAPLEX No.4 and condition with No.5. Use 1–2 times per week. Note: No.3 is NOT a deep conditioner — it's a treatment that requires shampoo afterward. The longer you leave it on, the more bonds it rebuilds.

Each numbered product has a specific role. No.0 Intensive Bond Building Hair Treatment is a pre-No.3 booster — apply No.0 first, leave for 10 minutes, then apply No.3 over the top for maximum bond rebuilding (used for severely damaged or bleached hair). No.3 Hair Perfector is the core at-home treatment for weekly use. No.8 Bond Intense Moisture Mask is a moisturising mask that also rebuilds bonds — use as a regular conditioning mask for dry, frizzy or thirsty hair. Many users alternate No.3 and No.8 across the week.

Yes — OLAPLEX is beneficial for all hair types and conditions, not just chemically-treated hair. Heat styling (curling irons, straighteners, blow dryers), UV exposure, mechanical friction (brushing, ponytails), hard water and even regular daily wear damage hair bonds over time. OLAPLEX prevents and reverses this everyday damage, making it useful for virgin (uncoloured) hair as well as chemically-treated hair. Even users with naturally healthy hair report improved shine, manageability and reduced breakage with consistent use.

The No.4P Blonde Enhancer Toning Shampoo is specifically formulated for blonde, highlighted, balayage and silver/grey hair — it contains purple pigments that neutralise the brassy yellow and orange tones that develop in lightened hair over time. Use 1–2 times per week in place of regular shampoo; for very brassy hair, leave on for 3–5 minutes before rinsing. The companion No.5P Conditioner extends the toning effect. Brunettes should use the regular No.4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo instead — toning purple shampoos don't benefit brunette hair and can leave a slight purple residue.
