A'pieu's hair vinegar is a diluted acetic acid rinse formulated for haircare use. After shampooing, the hair cuticle is slightly raised and the scalp can sit at an alkaline pH that encourages dryness, frizz and dullness. The vinegar formula gently lowers the pH back to the scalp's natural range (around 4.5–5.5), which closes the cuticle, dissolves calcium and product buildup from hard water and styling products, and lets light reflect more evenly off the strand. The visible result is softer, smoother, shinier hair from the first use, plus a healthier scalp environment over time.

No. The formula is heavily diluted and blended with fruit and botanical extracts — Raspberry in the shine line, Peppermint in the scalp line — so what you smell during application is a mild fruit or mint scent, not white vinegar. Once the hair dries, the scent fades completely and does not linger throughout the day. This is one of the key differences between A'pieu hair vinegar and a DIY apple cider vinegar rinse.

Yes. The full A'pieu vinegar range is sulfate-free, silicone-free and pH-balanced for hair, which makes it suitable for chemically processed hair including colour-treated, highlighted, bleached, keratin-treated and chemically straightened hair. Closing the cuticle with a low-pH rinse can actually help seal in colour pigment and extend the life of a colour service, while the absence of sulfates means it will not strip dye or salon treatments.

Use A'pieu Raspberry Hair Vinegar 1 to 2 times per week as a post-shampoo rinse. After cleansing the hair with a sulfate-free shampoo (ideally the matching A'pieu Raspberry Vinegar Shampoo), apply a coin-sized amount of vinegar mid-length to ends, avoiding the scalp if it is sensitive. Leave it on for 1 to 3 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with cool water — cool water helps close the cuticle and locks in shine. Daily use is not necessary and can over-clarify the hair.
