A peeling gel is a chemical-physical hybrid exfoliator that uses cellulose-based 'rolling' technology — when massaged onto dry skin, the gel rolls into small pellets that physically lift away dead skin cells and surface debris. Unlike abrasive scrubs that can damage the skin, peeling gels are gentle enough for sensitive skin and deliver instant smoothness. Apply to clean, completely dry skin — water inactivates the rolling mechanism. Take a coin-sized amount, massage gently in circular motions across the face for 30–60 seconds. The gel will start to ball up into small pellets as it lifts dead skin cells. Avoid pulling at the skin — let the gel do the work. Rinse with lukewarm water, follow with hydrating toner and moisturiser. Use 2–3 times per week; daily use can over-exfoliate. Don't combine with strong actives (retinol, AHA, BHA) on the same evening.

Partially. The pellets are a combination of the cellulose gel rolling up, plus the dead skin cells, sebum and oils it's lifting from the skin's surface. Some marketing implies it's all dead skin, but in reality the cellulose itself accounts for most of the visible material. That said, the exfoliating effect IS real — peeling gels have been clinically tested and shown to improve skin smoothness, texture and brightness when used regularly. The visual feedback just isn't a precise measurement of how much skin came off.
